Directory Submission is
the process of submitting your website to different types of websites to get
lots of traffic to your website. Generally, it is list of many sites in a
single package. Generally, directory is
a collection of list of information to an organization which is of high page
rank. When you submit website`s address with little details on a particular
directory, after approval by the directory owner, your website is listed on that
directory. In such a way, if you submit your site on more than 500+ sites, then
you will be able to earn money online and offline at all. That means, Directory
submission has the great advantage of increasing your site`s page rank easily.
While submitting your site
to any web-directory, you have to write little information about your site
like, your web address, its title, description about your website, your name, your
email which is used to confirm your submission on that particular directory. Here
are some directory lists that I am familiar with:
1. DMOZ/ODP: This is one of the best directories in
the world. It is an open directory project where you can edit your listing at
any time, but, approval of your site on this directory is very less unless your
site is qualified for this directory. You can suggest your website submission
to the corresponding title of your site.
2. Google Directory: It is also same as
DMOZ. You search Google Directory on Google search and suggest your site on
related to your title.
3. Yahoo Directory: Submission on this
directory is very difficult than DMOZ. It needs cost. You can submit freely,
but registration on Windows Live may require.
4. Free Directories list: (9dir, search this in
Google and click the first link after you search), 9dir contains about 865 free
directories listed in 9 pages with 100 free directories to each page. When this
free directories open, click on submit button to submit your site on each of
directories. Your site is approved within 3-6 months, it depends on site owner.
After submitting on each of directory site, you have to confirm your email.
Open your email in one tab of your browser while submitting your site on these
directories.
Directory submission is
helpful to get quality back-links from search engines. More the higher quality
incoming links, there will be higher chances of increasing your page rank of
search result and visibility of your site to the world.
